Highest Paying Virtual Assistant Jobs in 2025

Even if you want to leave the office for more flexibility, freedom, or something else, you probably want to know the highest-paying virtual assistant jobs.

And sometimes that can be the toughest thing to crack about moving into the virtual assistant world. How do I make a good living? How do I REALLY make enough to take care of my family?

In today’s blog post, I’ll share the highest-paying virtual assistant jobs…

and how to leverage your expertise to take advantage of them!

I often receive questions from aspiring virtual assistants about the highest paying virtual assistant jobs and what a VA should do to make the most money.

First Things First

When you’re first beginning as a virtual assistant, years of experience have taught me that it is best to focus on getting into the field rather than “making the big bucks”.

That doesn’t mean to forget the latter – but what you need to get there are the skills and experience you’ll gain by simply working as a virtual assistant.

Focus on the things you can DO – the things you have experience in – so you can get in the door and start doing the work.

Then later you can increase to highest paying virtual assistant jobs (unless you already have the skill set to start at an increased wage).

Highest Paying Virtual Assistant Jobs

And when you’re ready, here are the highest paying virtual assistant jobs:

Executive Assistant

A virtual Executive Assistant works for someone who is often handling many different areas of a company (both physical and virtual).

Because of this, your knowledge will need to be just as broad.

Most virtual Executive Assistants come from an office where they have already been working as an Executive Assistant (as I did).

HOWEVER, HEAR ME ON THIS…

You do NOT need to have Executive Assistant experience to do this job!

Many companies will hire someone with the personality and characteristics they want and TRAIN them on the skills they need. Because it can be harder to find the “right” personality than it is to show that person how to work a specific program.

But, in general, your wide range of knowledge will serve you well as an Executive Assistant. This wide range of knowledge is why this is one of the highest paying virtual assistant jobs out there.

The executive you are working with may need you to have some experience:

  • Various types of administrative support (maybe in operational, marketing, or even personal management)
  • Calendar and Schedule Management
  • Email Correspondence (using the executive’s “voice” with everything)
  • Meeting Coordinations
  • Travel Arrangements

And anything else they have come up from day to day.

Summary:

This role has a high level of responsibility. You will be required to know how the executive thinks and what he/she needs to be done (and how). Because of this, the position commands a premium salary.

Social Media Assistant/Manager

A great virtual assistant who handles social media is a huge support to any business or individual in today’s online world. This is why it falls under the highest paying virtual assistant jobs in 2025.

This sort of assistant is often responsible for not only creating excellent social media posts but also handling the analytics side.

Do you understand how to maximize a Facebook business page?

Do you know how to grab an audience’s attention on Instagram?

These skills can be applied to almost any business, and they’re extremely valuable when it comes to making a great income.

The company you are interested in working with might need you to:

  • Develop and/or implement their social media strategies.
  • Create engaging content for their social media
  • Analyze how their social media is performing
  • Manage their social media advertising campaigns

And anything else that comes up in their marketing department day to day.

Summary:

If you enjoy social media, polish up your copywriting skills, and research social media analytics on Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIN. Being an expert in any analytics tools can significantly increase your earning potential.

Web Designer

Another field that falls in the highest paying virtual assistant jobs category is that of a web designer or editor.

NOTE: This is not typically a skill that we bring from the office, so it may be something that you need to learn on the side.

But learning this on the side if absolutely doable. (I created most of my website on my own just by watching YouTube videos.) You can do this. I promise.

Companies may need you for:

  • Designing user-friendly website layouts
  • Editing their blog posts
  • Adding images to their website
  • Helping with SEO (Search Engine Optimization)
  • Knowledge of WordPress would likely be needed

Again, all of these things can be learned online with simple Google searches. If I were you, and you had even the slightest bit of interest or experience, I’d check it out! (Just my two cents). Lol.

Summary:

Nearly every single business or entrepreneur needs a website – so there is a great deal of demand for this skillset. Begin putting together your portfolio sooner rather than later and build as much experience as you can – and you’ll be able to charge more for your expertise.

Graphic Designer

One of the highest paying virtual assistant jobs in 2025 is that of a Graphic Designer.

Companies need someone who has an “eye” for design and also has the skill set to use the online tools that make that design come to life.

Companies need you to do the following:

  • Design logos and branding materials
  • Create marketing content and products
  • Develop graphics for their websites
  • Create social media graphics and visuals

Do you love putting a cutting-edge look on a proposal? Designing eye-popping marketing pieces? This might be the job for you!

Summary:

If you have a natural eye for design, you can combine your ability with a mastery of programs such as Canva or Adobe – and get paid more as a virtual assistant, because many people don’t have that skillset (and need it!).

Again, tutorials are everywhere. Learn and practice them. And earn more!

Conclusion:

When looking for the highest paying virtual assistant jobs in 2025, remember that these jobs may require a higher skillset than you currently have.

That’s ok.

You can learn it.

We all can!

For example, I might find a new system a client is using and decide, “Great, they need “X”! I can learn that easily.”

I’d do whatever it takes to learn that – and I would then charge for it accordingly.

The more experienced you are and the more relevant skills you have, the more you can charge – especially in specialized skills like executive support, social media management, web design, and graphic design.

So start with what you CAN do.

Then begin pulling in other tasks and skills on the side, master them, and add them to your packages of what you can offer your clients.

Of course, we want to be able to just jump into the highest paying virtual assistant jobs we can but we have to be realistic about that, and we don’t always have the necessary experience starting out.

Next Steps

So if you’re not in a position to be able to snatch up a niche virtual assistant job, be willing to put the work in.

Develop the skillset you need.

And when you’ve built the experience, you’ll be able to trade it for one of the highest paying virtual assistant jobs in 2025 and love doing it!

If you want to learn more about working as a virtual assistant and maybe find some Virtual Assistant free training for some of these jobs, I wrote about that here.
