I remember sitting in my cubicle, staring at the fluorescent lights above me, and thinking, “There has to be a way to work somewhere you love.” Because I was definitely not loving where I was working at that time.

For me, it was being able to work from my home office, take mid-day walks with my dogs, and never miss another one of my grandkid’s school plays.

1. Start with a skills inventory. What are you already amazing at? Maybe you’re a spreadsheet wizard or a social media guru. These are gold in the virtual assistant world.
