If you’re new to the Virtual Assistant world, you may be confused as to what the difference is between a Virtual Assistant and a Virtual Assistant who owns his/her own company. Before you decide which might work for you, let me help you learn a little more about the two:
- Working as a Virtual Assistant – You work for clients that need you for a predetermined set of hours each week or specific projects. You are paid at a previously agreed upon rate. You may work for a single client or multiple clients at a time.
- Owning a Virtual Assistant Company – All of the above is true; however, you may hire a team of virtual assistants that work for the client as well. The client pays you and you pay your team, while keeping a percentage of the pay. You may coach and train others how to work as a Virtual Assistant; as well as sell online products that help them grow in their career. You basically create a business around either you or your team working as Virtual Assistants.

Perks Of Each:
Working as a Virtual Assistant –
- Work for as many clients as you choose.
- Good pay. As you gain experience – salary keeps going up.
- When finished at end of the day – you’re finished. No client’s business intrudes on your family time.
Owning a Virtual Assistant Company –
- With a team of virtual assistants, you can take on even more clients and offer specialties.
- Great opportunity for increased sales and income depending on what you offer.
- It is a business – the work and the pride of running your own company.
Both avenues have their perks (and their con’s); it’s really a simple matter of knowing yourself and figuring out what might work for you and your family.
