Dream of working from home or from the road?
Wish you could set your own hours?
Need some freedom in your life?
Many of you probably said “heck, yeah” to at least one of the above questions! Who wouldn’t? Instead, we spend countless hours commuting and fighting traffic twice a day, five days a week (or more.) But are you really cut out to work as a Virtual Assistant?
What if you’re not sure you have what you need?
Well, if you’ve been working in the “corporate world”, I’m willing to bet you have EXACTLY what you need to work as a Virtual Assistant in the virtual world. And, I plan to help you see it too!
According to Larry Kim, the CEO of Mobile Monkey, there are several indicators of having “what it takes” to be a successful entrepreneur. But, there are three basic areas that you can use to determine if you’re really ready.
See if you have what it takes …
A) Are You Mentally Prepared Work As a Virtual Assistant?
- Are you oh so “over” working in an office with the office politics all around?
- Ready for a “change” but not sure what that change should be?
- Love to learn new things?
- Always trying to succeed no matter what you put your mind to?
If you answered “yes” to these questions then … YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES MENTALLY!
B) Are You Intellectually Prepared For The Work?
- Do you only get better with age? Working faster and smarter with every year? You know, learn the tips and tricks to be more efficient?
- Have lots of skills but not sure those skills will transfer to working virtually? Here are ways you can determine those skills. You’ll see … you either know a portion of them or even ALL the skills necessary!
- Have you worked as an Administrative Assistant, Executive Assistant or Office Manager in the past? Those skills are the very same skills you’ll need to work virtually. They simply need to be adapted for an online world.
If you answered “yes” to these questions then … YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES INTELLECTUALLY!
C) Are You Professionally Prepared For The Client?
- Do you know how to “think like your boss” and handle issues on your own if you have to?
- Know how to “spin” ten plates at once, handle a hundred details and still appear to be cool as a cucumber?
- Know how to ask the right questions to get the information you need — when you need it?
- Do you communicate as much as you can with your supervisor to make sure you’re always on the same page?
If you answered “yes” to these questions then … YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES PROFESSIONALLY!
So … after reading all of this …
